Anyone Use Periscopedata for Financial Statement reports like Profit n Loss?

Hi, I am wondering if there is anyone using periscope for financial statements? What is the best practice? Currently, we keep those kinds of data in Excel Sheets or Spreadsheets. I am wondering if there is anyone turned those sheets as database and queried on them to visualize on periscope or any other visualization tools?   Shortest way comes to my mind is that using Google spreadsheets and turning it into a database for Bigquery? Also, I would be happy to see structure you use. Those kinds of data mostly keep horizontally to grasp easily for the end user (time series in columns) but I should turn it to the raw based structure like a database.  I am confused whether it's worth or not for the effort?

  • It's probably not worth the effort, unless your business is in the business of tracking other business's P&Ls. You're basically re-building an ERP system, which is an admirable goal, but with so many cost-effective solutions on the market, it seems easier to buy rather than build.
