Periscope - New Logo
I recently noticed the change to the Periscope data logo. I am a big fan of the simplicity /"clean" feel and it left me with an impression that Periscope is evolving into a big player in the industry.
The half circle logo made me think, that the "glass is always half full" and gives the feeling of optimism and growth. It also gives the feeling of "Ying"and "Yang" and balance.
What are all your thoughts on the new logo?
Maybe one of the Periscope team members can provide some insight into their thoughts on what the logo change meant for their company?

I'm the design lead responsible for the refreshed brand here at Periscope Data. Thanks for chiming in on our new logo. There's certainly a lot that goes into branding, of which, the logo is just the start. When we started on the journey for revisiting the brand, we put everything on the table, including rethinking our logo completely. In terms of the logo, we believe refinement was the best place to go.
Your descriptions are right on with the connotations we associated with the new logo. As a bit of background, our previous logo was inspired by the camera microprism (though, something uncommon for cameras today). We wanted to keep that connection and what arose were ideas around focus, stability and horizons.
