Best practices for B2B share dashboards?
Hi all -- does anyone else use share dashboards for B2B clients?
We've started using them as an easy prototyping tool before building new features and reports into our custom software dashboard.
I'm curious if anyone has experience with this and some practices to share.

Definitely a lot of our customers use Periscope this way!

Have you considered using the charts in your prototypes as the charts in your product with our embed API?

We have a group for "in-house" and set the default settings to not share with everyone. Anything for internal sharing is only shared with the in-house group.
Shared demos are shared with all users and then customer specific dashboards only with that user (on a read only basis) and the "in-house" group.
Seems to work well - our clients find it easy enough to sign up and log in, but we do have to tell all of them that you can zoom into the charts and filter by clicking on the legend - something the team @ periscope might want to make more intuitive!

Sean Cook We just started embedding with the embed API into our admin portal. This was a relatively inexpensive (time) task that did delight some of our customers.
Tom Weiss so interesting that you give customers periscope logins! That is obviously ideal in terms of data security from the individual clients accessing it (rather than anyone with the link). However, for me, the permission control for created accounts is not as airtight of a process as I'd want it to be for me to feel comfortable with that process.
One of the things I've been a bit mystified by is the lack of exportability to PDF, or of an entire dashboard to Excel or some other program. Our clients are all public sector, so e-mailing large embedded dashboard images is highly unreliable in terms of delivery. But an analyst on their end plopping down a printed out stack of papers from a PDF is a very reliable format for delivery.Reply -
Kevin Pujanauski We've created a reports page for logged in users and use the embed api to display reports. This way we can easily set the reports a user should see and the code changes automatically filters the data based on their credentials.
We also could use a better way to export a pdf version of reports for our customers as well

Noah Hart I have talked to my Periscope account manager and enthusiastically encouraged them to add this feature. It seems like it's a lower priority than Slack integrations, unfortunately. 😁

Noah Hart Hi Noah, I thought this was a Q4 feature, but it looks like we'll be doing this in Q1 of 2018. It's definitely coming. Python and R are the focus for now. Sorry for the too early hope, but I'll make sure you know when it is done!
