Displaying Dashboard on Apple TV

Has anyone had any success at setting a dashboard that displays on an Apple TV?

We've started using Apple TVs in our boardrooms and it would be great to show some company metrics as a default.

I saw the blog about setting up a Raspberry Pi, which is along the same lines, and could be a future project, but would prefer an Apple TV app.

  • Hmm, as long as the Apple TV can display a website, it shouldn't be a problem. You might have to grab a custom browser from the Apple Store like the Perfect browser, and make sure to disable the screen saver!

Have you started and run into challenges, or are you still in the planning phase?

Sean Cook So as far as I can see, there is no app called "Perfect Browser" for Apple TV. In fact I can't find any browser apps. I have found a hack where you can install tvOSBrowser using XCode, but it might not allow me to use websites with logins. Plus not sure I want to mess with my company's brand new Apple TV in that way (yet!).

Pablo Jaramillo No matter what you use, you won't be able to use a website with logins because the TV will log out and you'll have to log it back in every couple weeks.

Create a shared dashboard and use that as the TV dash.

I thought Perfect would work on Apple TV — What about this?

  • Basically I started looking for browsers and was somewhat surprised that there wasn't something that jumped right out at me. I'll check Perfect Browser and see if it works. Will report back!
