Update a table in every dashboard

I have a lot of Dashboards and one of the table (table1 ) i use has been replaced by an other one (table 2 ) on my data base. I would like to change "table1" into "table2" on every chart of every Dashboard but there are too many dashboards.

Do you have a piece of advice to make this task easier ?

Thank you !

  • Hi Amine ! Thanks for reaching out and happy to share some thoughts here.

While we currently don't have a way to bulk update your queries to reference your new table, our team has recognized this as a need for analysts, particularly as database schemas continue to evolve and update. Therefore, we are working on an integration with Git that would support these kinds of bulk updates in the future. I have gone ahead and connected you with your Customer Success Manager over email in case you have any further questions on the integration, and she can also assist with providing additional context on our plans for the upcoming integration.

For the immediate term, if you anticipate any table names to change again in the near future, I recommend placing this table name in a SQL snippet, and then replacing the table name in your queries with a reference to the snippet. This means that whenever you want to change the table name again in the future, you would only need to apply this change in the snippet, and it would propagate in all the queries where the snippet is referenced.

    Hope this helps!
